Mission & Goal

One man, through his music, was able to change the lives of those around him. Taking his lead, we seek to change the lives of many...one at a time. Howlin' Wolf knew and understood the importance of family, community and education. Our mission and goal is to follow in his footsteps by establishing this foundation to help and encourage those in the world around us.

Blues Education

The Howlin' Wolf Foundation offers Blues-themed educational and community outreach programs to the public. Whether it’s summer enrichment programs for elementary school students, workshops for seniors, blues camps for children, panel discussions for music scholars or festivals for the entire family, the Foundation uses these opportunities to foster the public’s appreciation of Blues music. These events will also provide performance opportunities for Blues artists.

Scholarship Awards

The Foundation has established the Howlin' Wolf Scholarship Award to encourage artistic excellence among future generations of Blues musicians. The annual award is intended to further the education and nurture the career development of aspiring young artists.  Learn more about our scholarship guidelines....

We Care

The Foundation's desire is to provide financial and medical assistance to Blues artists as well as a support system to help identify other sources of assistance. Providing help for artists and their families to cover the costs of emergency needs can make a great difference and provide much needed assistance.
